Historical Resume – Jimi Hendrix
The objective of this project was to create a historical resume representing an figure from the past. I chose to go with Jimi Hendrix, the self taught guitarist who rose to fame in the 1960s. My goal was to design as visual pleasing resume that represented him and the time period he was most prominent in.
Typography Themed Brochure
Imagine designing a brochure just based on the font used? This is what this project is. I created two different brochure designs. The first one using just on typeface: Caviar Dreams. The second combining two different typefaces: Caviar Dreams and Bubbleboddy. I wanted it to look cute and fun, so I picked colors that would match that theme.
Alphabet Layout
This time I created an alphabet layout that’s clean and visually pleasing. The challenge was to have every letter perfectly aligned. If anything was misaligned it would be apparent. The typeface I chose for this is Quicksand. For the first design, it would be a typical layout. For the second, I had to break the alignment in a way that didn’t compromise the whole design.
Logo Design
For this project I needed to create a logo for a fictional company. I chose to go with a fictional candy shop. Then I got the idea or combining candy with scientific concepts like atoms. That’s how “Atomic Candyshop” was born. I combined the visuals of an atom with a piece of candy, with the candy serving as the nucleus and the rotating spheres being the electrons. I played around with different colors schemes and landed on the following represented in the images below.
Bakery Posters
I’ve always had a fondness for cute bakeries. The bakeries that make generous use of pastel colors with neatly arranged desserts in display cases. So I though to myself, why not create a flyer for one? Initially I went for a design with a more vintage feel. I played around with adding a grain effect to the background, which resulted in the image on the left. Some of my peers suggested I add an effect like sprinkles in the background, which resulted in the image on the right. Which do you prefer?
